Boy, how life can change in just a few months!

It’s no secret that I love working with repeat clients and documenting the changes in their family. I took holiday photos for this lovely duo on a frigid day last fall; they had a particularly exciting card to send for 2013, because they were announcing that they were expecting a baby. It was wonderful to be involved in such a sweet project, their creativity and delight about the baby-to-be really helped make it a high energy shoot. We did the pregnancy announcement photos in Washington Square Park, a location I really like, but don’t use as often as I should.

A few weeks ago, I paid a very happy visit to their apartment to photograph the duo that is now a TRIO: their dear little son had just been born. He was exactly 14 days old on the day of our shoot. It was such fun to see how he had transformed their lives with all the joy he brought. I am very excited to watch this handsome and cheerful little fellow grow up!

 

 

I really like the intimacy and natural feel that comes with doing newborn photography at home. Even in NYC, where space is often at a premium, it’s possible to get great  portraits of the family in their “natural habitat.”
