My dear sister Arabella recently became affianced to her wonderful boyfriend Branden, so OF COURSE I had to take some engagement photos to commemorate this exciting time in their lives. We did a “day in the life” photojournalistic style shoot in East Hampton, wherein I photographed whatever they were up to for an afternoon.
The adventure brought us to all sorts of exotic and picturesque locations: East Hampton dump, Springs dog park, and Riverhead Building Supply in Montauk. Busy day! Springs Dog Park is one of the treasures of East Hampton, I believe it’s one of the five biggest dog parks in the US. We were had a lovely sunny evening, I look forward to going back and taking more photographs there in a few weeks when the trees are green and the flowers are blooming.
Arabella and I have been doing photography projects (with her as model and me as photographer) together for over 20 years, so I knew she’d be excited to tackle any challenge, but I was really impressed with how Branden threw himself into the spirit of things: it’s not every day you’re given artistic direction while sorting your recyclables at the dump. This bodes well since he is indirectly signing up for a lifetime of photography projects – collateral damage!
I’ve also thrown in some photos from Indian Wells beach the day before. Branden makes Arabella so happy, and I tried to capture the lighthearted kindness these two share. Enjoy!
UPDATE: Arabella and I (and Monty!) later took some more photos at Springs Dog Park. You can see them here.
