Fairfield County Maternity Photography
What a wonderful evening this was! My dear friend Ali is pregnant with her third child; she is 32 weeks along here. We decided to capture her pregnancy in style, along the Connecticut coast. Fairfield County maternity photography is quickly becoming one of my favorite genres.
We had such a fantastic maternity shoot! This was our second shoot together. It is such a joy to watch families grow and change, and an honor to photograph these important moments in people’s lives.
Ali is an accomplished journalist and reporter, a loyal and kind friend, and a superstar mom, wife, daughter and sister – such an impressive woman.
She is also a pregnant mother of two little ones; it was fun to have an excuse to get dolled up a bit and celebrate her glam side!
I absolutely love meeting new people at my shoots, but it’s just as special working with old friends too.
We three gals have been friends since 9th grade!
That’s also the year I took my first photography class. I wish I could go back (way back) in time to that year and show fourteen-year-old us the future shoots we did together.
Husbands? Babies? DIGITAL CAMERAS?? What a mind blow it would be.
It’s so exciting that Ali is about to have her third baby. Time is flying by, and I can’t wait to watch her beautiful young family grow.
I like to think that 9th grade us would be pretty proud!
A radiant mama, awaiting her third baby.
Ali and I met on a school camping trip at the beginning of high school. There wasn’t a gown in sight.
A contemplative moment on the dock.
Then another outfit change and we headed to the beach.
This was my first time using this blue dress. I love the vibrant blue, and the drama of the silhouette.
The bottom half had a few small pieces of dry seaweed on it at the end.
I’m sure my dry cleaner will be thrilled.
A great thing about our shoot was that Ali’s mother AND grandmother were there, so we got to capture
three four generations all together. It was so sweet! These three are so close, it was super to spend time with them.
Ali comes from a long line of wonderful women!
I love Ali’s confidence and poise here.
Thank you to this beautiful and adventurous mama for such a wonderful shoot!

As a quick reference, here are some answers to some of the most common maternity questions:
• When is the best time for a maternity shoot?
When you are 28 – 35 weeks along. You’ll be big enough to show, but still feel pretty comfortable.
• When is the best time to book a maternity shoot?
Asap! Although we do maternity shoots in the second half of your pregnancy, please contact me as early as possible to reserve a time, particularly if you are hoping to do your shoot on a weekend.
• Who provides the dresses?
You are welcome to wear a dress from my collection of maternity dresses, a dress of your own, or nothing at all. It’s up to you! The dresses pictured here are all part of my collection. I’m happy to discuss wardrobe before your shoot – it’s half the fun.
• I’m feeling a little self-conscious, will you edit/retouch the images?
Sure! If you’re interested in having your image gently retouched, I’m happy to do that. I’m an experienced retoucher and can remove wrinkles, and do any optional slimming, etc. I’ll keep the images looking natural.
Between wardrobe, posing, lighting, and retouching, I take great care to make sure you are looking and feeling your absolute best!
• Where can we do the maternity shoot? Do you have a studio? Can you come to me?
I’m happy to come to you.
I’m based in Manhattan and East Hampton, NY, but enjoy coming to Fairfield County, etc.
As you can see, I love working outdoors. However, we can also do studio portraits in Manhattan.
I also offer milk bath maternity sessions, which are really fun.
Your shoot is all about YOU, so we can do whatever interests you most.
