Fairfield Maternity Photographer
Isn’t it great when you meet someone and adore them right away? That’s how I felt about Christina, when I met her at a charity event hosted by Elizabeth and Ali.
Christina was 38 weeks pregnant at that time, and wanted to do a maternity shoot. We knew time was of the essence!
Typically I recommend doing maternity shoots when you are 28 – 35 weeks along, but Christina was feeling great and up for anything, so we were able to throw that guideline right out the window.
We did her shoot when she was 39 weeks pregnant. I zoomed up to Southport CT for an outdoor maternity shoot.
At that point, I had never photographed someone who was so far along in her pregnancy. Since then, I photographed a woman who was 41 weeks along and dancing in Greenwich Village Manhattan in ballet pointe shoes. (I’ll post those photos later.) The 28-35 week rule is useful when planning your shoot, but clearly doesn’t apply to everyone!
Anyway, Christina nailed it!
We were laughing and having such a lovely time.
As I often do, we started the shoot with family photos. Her husband and son are so sweet, and equally full of laughs.
It was so sweet to document their last days before becoming a family of four. They are such a loving family.
I always love a dad toss.
These two have such a warm and loving relationship. Their excitement about their growing family was such a pleasure to photograph.
Can you see his fistfuls of sand here? This little guy loved the beach so much he would joyfully throw sand straight up in the air like confetti. He is a riot!
I was standing thigh-deep in the water to get this shot.
I hate wearing shorts but usually wear them to beach shoots for exactly this reason. Here’s Christina looks radiant in a cream silk dress, and I was wading around in the seaweed in some ancient red shorts.
Whatever it takes!
A mama and some moonbeams.
A few weeks later we reunited for a newborn shoot with Christina’s beautiful little daughter. I always love seeing my maternity clients as they “graduate” into mamas of newborns. It’s such an honor.
